Especially in business, it’s tempting to follow scripts about what success means or what to do. But following Jesus means you don’t conform to what the world tells you to do. You’re on the right track if you DON’T match the status quo and follow the Word.

The main verse from the Word I want you to remember here is John 15:19:
“If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.”
When you do things God’s way, you are naturally going to meet resistance. When you reject the notion that you have to have x, y, or z or that you have to play all the games people play to win (you know the ones), people are going to wonder what in the hades you’re doing. They’re going to give you all kinds of reasons why you’re going to fail if you continue on your path.
Go ahead. Laugh in their faces.
Why?
Because with God, there is no failure.
Are you going to struggle? Sure. That’s kind of what Jesus was getting at with this verse. He was explaining why others gave His followers a hard time and trying to encourage them through it. But the world will pass away. He won’t. That’s also what He was getting at.
Remember:
✝️ God’s the boss. THE boss.
✝️ The world doesn’t know jack compared to God. Like, not even a peanut.
✝️ We are here to serve the world. The world is not here to serve us.
✝️ The world will tell you where to go and how to get there, but He knows where you need to be and has set the path for you to walk.
