For the longest time, I wanted to have a “good” job.
You know, one people respected.
That made money.
I wanted to get the hades out of Dodge and impress important people.
I didn’t want to be a “nobody.”
So, naturally, God gifted me as a musician and writer.
😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆
(Because, you know, those jobs earn SO much money and respect.)
He has a sense of humor.
Not to mention the ability to teach His kids what matters.
There are tons of different kinds of work out there. And from what I’ve seen, most of us tend to put it all in a hierarchy like I did, searching for the “best” positions with the “best” perks and the “best” amount of pay and power.
But I’ve learned that everything we could possibly do for a paycheck is really just killing time. The job we’re really supposed to pay attention to is the same for all of us, and it’s pretty simple.
We’ve just got to come to God.

To give Him the honor, service, and deep friendship He deserves and, in the process, deliver Him joy.
(Did you know that you’re made to give God joy????)
That’s your only job.
Come. Give joy.
That’s it.
It doesn’t cost you anything.
In the bleak midwinter, however poor you are, whatever role you’re in, you can give Him your heart.
It’s Christmas. Understand what He placed in the manger. If anything proves He’ll accept your heart and joy, it’s that.
